Camps in Suffolk County

Camps in Suffolk County are numerous and they very in size and activities.

Camp W is one of the many camps in Suffolk County. Camp W offers so many different activities for children. Sports such as football, baseball, basketball, softball, gag a volleyball, floor hockey, Creative Arts such as ceramics, arts and crafts, drama, and music. Camp W also offers many unique activities such as remote control cars, game room, camp lounge, cooking, nerf room, virtual reality room Lego Room and building plastic models and rockets.

Camps in Suffolk County usually offer swimming and Camp W is one of them. Campers swim at the Dix Hills Community pool every camp day from 9:30 am until 10:15 am. Campers get tested to see their swimming abilities then get put in a swim group with four or five other campers. The swim instructor will be in the water teaching skills and demonstrating how to do those skills. Campers will get tested every two weeks to see if they have mastered those skills so they can move up to more difficult swim group. Campers will receive a swim card explaining to parent what skills they have mastered and what skills they still need to work on.

Camps in Suffolk County can go on trips and Camp W certainly does that. The 7th , 8th and 9th grade campers go on day trips every Wednesday to places like RPM Raceway in Farmingdale, Lazerland in Commack, Island Rock in Plainview, Ultimate Ninja in Farmingdale, Puzzle break in Syosset, and many other places. The entire camp goes on trips the last week of camp. Some of the places Camp W campers visit are Adventureland in Farmingdale, Dave & Busters in Massapequa, Long Island Ducks stadium in East Islip, Bowlmor in Melville, Bouncer & Slydos in Farmingdale and the movies in Elmwood. Campers have enjoyed these trips and so does the staff.

Camps in Suffolk County vary in price and what they offer but everyone would agree that camp is a great way to spend your summer. Campers at Camp W would not want to be anywhere else.
