Camp night activities

Jan 13, 2020

Camp night activities at Camp W are events scheduled throughout the summer. Our first camp night activity is on Wednesday, July 8 for our Middle Campers and parents. Campers in grades 2, 3 and 4 are invited to stay after camp hours and enjoy a variety of activities like soccer, capture the flag, wiffle ball gag a ball, Newcomb, game room, counselor hunt, art design and use our waterslide. Parents of these campers are invited to a barbeque at 6:00 pm. The barbeque has hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken, corn, salad and some great desserts. When the barbeque concludes campers go home with their parents. This is an enjoyable evening for all.

The next camp night activity is our Sleepover scheduled for Friday, July 17. Campers in our Upper Camp division, grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9th are invited to stay overnight at camp. Campers will bring a sleeping bag or air mattress, pillow a change of clothes, toothbrush and a flashlight to the sleepover. When our regular camp day concludes, campers in each grade level will be assigned a sleeping area. Each grade level will have a room to put their stuff down and set it up for sleeping. When all groups have organized their sleeping supplies, the fun will then begin. Campers will have three different activities to choose from: sport, art activity or the camp lounge to enjoy for 45 minutes. When the activity concludes, campers will then pick a second activity for another 45 minute period. Campers will then wash up and get ready for a pizza dinner with plenty of desserts. When dinner is over campers will participate in a Counselor Hunt and then a talent show. When the talent show is over campers will get changed into their sleeping outfits. Campers will then have a choice of watching a movie, going to the game room or being in the camp lounge. Campers will be required to go to their sleeping areas at 11:00. In the morning campers will be treated to a fabulous breakfast that includes: pancakes, waffles, eggs, hash browns, bagels and juice. Parents will pick up their child at 9:00 am.

The camp night activities continue with our Parent Night on Thursday, July 23. This event is strictly for our camp parents. Parents are invited to arrive at camp at 6:00 pm and enjoy a barbeque of hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, fries, fruit and cookies. When dinner is over, parents will then compete against the staff in Tug of War, Egg Toss, volleyball, dodgeball and a special surprise at the end of the night. Parents will go home at 9:00 pm.

The camp night activities then conclude on Thursday, August 6 when our Drama Club will present the show “Annie” at 6:30 pm. Parents and campers can attend the performance and also enjoy some light refreshments.
